Lilian Singer Collection
Scope and Content Note
The Lilian Singer Collection includes materials pertaining to the personal life and professional activities of Lilian Singer and some members of her family. The bulk of the collection consists of photographs; other materials include personal, educational, immigration, and professional documents, correspondence, and sketches.
Personal materials include correspondence, documents, and materials pertaining to her death, History of Anne Kelemen, written by her niece, Anne Kelemen, and Harry and Ruth Marcus’ description of their trip to Israel.
Materials pertaining to Lilian Singer’s occupation as a physician include diplomas, certificates, recommendation letters and letters of appointment, and materials documenting her job search.
The largest portion of the collection consists of photographs of friends and Lilian Singer’s family. Most of the folders are accompanied with a detailed list of photographs and their content.
Materials collected in the collection are fragmentary and do not allow a researcher to look deeply into Lilian Singer’s personal life, nor does the nature of the collection permit a closer look at her professional activities.

Biographical Note
Dr. Lilian P. Singer was born on Feb. 17,1898 in Brno (today Czech Republic) and died on June 8, 1977 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
