Abstract

The collection contains mostly photographs of Raphael Kahn and his mother, Mirjam in Palestine and in Germany. Also included are Raphael Kahn’s baby-book, covering his development from 1922 to 1927 in the handwritings of his parents (?); and a note book/diary of Fritz Kahn (?) with entries from 1923-1924.

Biographical Note

Raphael Kahn was born in Berlin on Aug. 23, 1922, the son of Fritz Kahn and his wife Mirjam Kahn, née Irma Glogau. The family moved to Palestine in 1933, settling first in Haifa and then in Jerusalem. Raphael’s parents divorced in 1937.

The collection also contained a bound, typed manuscript of fritz Kahn’s book 'Das Geschlechtsbuch : Ein Führer durch das Geschlechtsleben für Jedermann', MS 1091, first published in Zürich in 1937.
