The collection contains close to 100 menus from Kosher restaurants, mostly from Manhattan and Brooklyn but also from Miami and Montréal. The menus are mostly undated but are generally from the 1990s-2000s.

Historical Note

Kosher restaurants, meant primarily for a Jewish clientele, can be found all over the world, especially in locations with a high Jewish population, such as New York City. Many of these restaurants serve traditional Jewish cuisine, while others serve Kosher ethnic cuisine such as Chinese food. These menus collected by Claire Cohen contain a small example of the many types of restaurants where traditional and ethnic foods are created with Kosher principles in mind.
